ALGOMA UNIVERSITY
*************************
On Tuesday, Nov. 26, Algoma University will be hosting author Lindsay Wong on campus. Lindsay Wong’s memoir The Woo Woo: How I Survived Ice Hockey, Drug Raids, Demons, and My Crazy Chinese Family was one of five finalists shortlisted for CBC’s Canada Reads this year. Lindsay Wong is an exciting new voice in Canadian Literature.

Lindsay’s visit is part of Algoma Reads, a community-based reading project in which Algoma University students gain experiential learning by welcoming the community of Sault Ste. Marie to attend public events featuring prominent writers in Canada chosen by CBC’s Canada Reads.

Everyone is welcome to join us at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Algoma University’s Doc Brown Lounge, located in room 205 of the East Wing, for Lindsay Wong’s lecture. The event is free. Donations towards the costs of Algoma Reads are greatly appreciated.

Lindsay will be the last author and speaker of the year for Algoma Reads. We encourage everyone in the community to come and experience this final intimate and informative lecture from one of this year’s CBC Canada Reads shortlist of books to “move you.” Look out for future Algoma Reads events to come in fall 2020!
