The annual Fringe North Festival has begun accepting applications from artists for this year's festival.

The four-day event, which is slated for August in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, includes theatre, music, dance, performance arts, storytelling, visual arts, among others.

The 2023 event will include both live and digital performances.

“There are so many opportunities for engagement this year," interim artistic producer Katelyn Townsend said in a prepared statement. “I’m very excited to have more time to work with artists, help inspire creativity, and support them in their work.” Artist Relations Coordinator Garrett Ryan is equally as enthusiastic about interacting with artists who participate in this year’s festival. “In 2022 I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful cohort of artists. I watched their amazing passion projects take shape and come to fruition at our festival. I am ecstatic to usher in a brand new slate of live and digital content, and can’t wait to begin this work once again.”

Applicants are selected on a first-come-first-served basis and artists from all types of disciplines are invited to apply.

Multilingual submissions are welcome with translation and ASL supports are available.

There is a $10 non-refundable processing fee though Festival coordinators say that if the fee is a barrier, it can be discussed and participation fees have been waived for the event.

The Festival provides a minimum guaranteed income of at least $100 per production.

Applications can be submitted here.

Those looking for further information can contact the Festival by email or calling (705) 975-0761.
