Book clubs set to bring readers together at downtown library

Attention book lovers!

The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library has announced the schedule for book clubs it is hosting in 2024, from February through May.

Two sessions of 'The Tuesday Book Club' will meet on the third Tuesday of each month, according to a news release. (Morning session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m; afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)

The Tuesday Book Club Meeting Dates:
Feb. 20
Book Club A – Morning Session: Harsh Times by Mario Vargas Llosa
Book Club B – Afternoon Session: Jane and Edward by Melodie Edwards

March 19
Book Club A – Morning Session: Return to Valetto by Dominic Smith
Book Club B – Afternoon Session: The Golden Couple by Sarah Pekkanen

April 16
Book Club A – Morning Session: Jane and Edward by Melodie Edwards
Book Club B – Afternoon Session: Harsh Times by Mario Vargas Llosa

May 21
Book Club A – Morning Session: The Golden Couple by Sarah Pekkanen
Book Club B – Afternoon Session: Return to Valetto by Dominic Smith

Registration for the Tuesday Book Club will be available online starting Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 per person. Click here to register.

The Mystery & Suspense Book Club will meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Feb. 14 – Things We Do in the Dark by Jennifer Hillier
March 13 – The Bitter Past by Bruce Borgo
April 10 – We Know You Remember by Tove Alsterdal
May 8 – The Kingdoms of Savannah by George Dawes Green

Anyone who does not wish to register and pay online must register and pay in-person at the downtown library branch at 50 East St., at the Reference and Information Desk, the library said.
