Dean Brody played in front of thousands of excited fans at the Yard on Friday.

Around 2500-3000 people filled The Yard Friday night making it the biggest event the venues had yet.

The Yard opened in 2015 and is located on the grounds of the former St. Marys Paper mill.

Director of Operations Trev Zachary talked about what they’re trying to do with The Yard.

"Our goal is to bring the community out a lot of people love these outdoor festivals and concerts. It brings that ‘Castle Farms’ feel. That’s what it used to be for a lot of us back in the day when we went to big concerts down in the U.S. You’re under the sun, you’re under the stars, and people seem to really think that’s cool.” said Zachary.

The audience was pumped to see Brody.

“I love him. I listen to his songs for fun at home and he’s just a great songwriter,” said Rachelle Barbeau, who was in the front row of the concert, climbing up on the metal barricade, and cheering for Brody the whole time.

“He’s one of Canada’s biggest country music stars by far. Canadian Country Music awards and Juno awards. We thought, you know what? A summer country concert, what better guy?” said Zachary.

Jason Blaine and Kris Barclay opened.
