Free Online Course with Children's Author Anita Daher

The Arts Page is pleased to announce that children's writer Anita Daher will be presenting a free online "Writing for Children" course beginning November 1st and running until November 29th on Sootoday.com.

Anita Daher, a former Saultite, recently followed up the success of her first children's work, Flight from Big Tangle, with the much awaited Flight from Bear Canyon.

Daher will be sharing her skills and experience, as well as her knowledge of the industry, through the biweekly online course. The "lesson" will be presented in an editorial format, and "class discussion" will be in the format of "feedback" with the author be participating in the response section of the page.

Although the course material will be free for all to view on the Arts Page by clicking on the word "recent" under Daher's picture, the discussion portion of the class will require a free registeration. Follow the 10 self-serve instructions below in order to participate in the online discussion with both Daher and other "classmates".

1) go to the Arts Page
2) click on "recent" under Anita's picture
3) scroll to the bottom of that page
4) at the bottom, you will see the word "register" in blue - click on it
5) this will bring you to another page where you will be
asked to fill out your vitals
6) after completing the form, click on the word "enter"
7) Sootoday will send you a "name" and "password" to your
email account - remember these
8) go back to "recent" under Anita's picture
9) click on "sign in"
10) fill in "name" and "password" and hit "submit"

Once you have followed the above instruction, you will be allowed to participate in the discussions. Once registered, all you have to do is sign in using your "name" and "password."

Anita Daher will returning to the Sault, as part of her book tour, in support of Flight From Bear Canyon. She will be at the following locations in November:

November 5th: Sault Ste. Marie Public Library, 1:30 pm Presentation and signing.

November 5th: Coles, Station Mall, 4:00 pm, book signing

November 6th: Coles, Cambrian Mall, 12:00 pm, book signing

November 6th: Canadian Heritage Bushplane Museum, 2:00 to 4:00 pm, presentation and book signing.
