Batchewana First Nation hosted a Friday powwow on St. Mary's Island, near the Soo Locks, in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day across the country

Yesterday was National Indigenous Peoples Day, a Canada-wide celebration of the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people.

Continuing tradition, Batchewana First Nation hosted a powwow on St. Mary's Island, near the Soo Locks, to mark the occasion.

SooToday was there to cover the festivities.
