Glorious and free: Sault fireworks cap off festive Canada Day

Thousands of Saultites gathered at the waterfront Saturday night to take in a fireworks display in celebration of Canada's 156th birthday

The grand finale may have been on the quieter end this year, but the Sault managed to put on a beautiful fireworks display on Saturday to tie a bow on a fun-filled and entertaining Canada Day.

Locals enjoyed live entertainment, activities, and refreshments at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion until around 10 p.m. before a safe fireworks display wowed thousands of observers along the boardwalk.

The fireworks were met with some criticism online as a fire ban remains in place for the region.

The show lasted just over 15 minutes.
