Let Santa be your guide for an upcoming snowshoeing adventure hosted by Forest the Canoe and Hiawatha Highlands.

The first annual Snowshoe with Santa event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 18 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with a second tour running from 1 until 3 p.m.

“Hiawatha Highlands is an amazing spot for snowshoeing. We would love to get families and their kids out on the trails for this 2-kilometre loop guided by Santa,” said Ryan Walker, co-owner of Forest the Canoe. “We’ll be learning some fun nature facts along the way and we’ll have a scavenger hunt for the kids.”

The trail will be relatively flat, suitable for the whole family.

The adventure will conclude with some hot chocolate, snacks, candy canes, and the opportunity to take pictures with Santa.

Due to COVID-19, the tours will be limited to 15 participants. The cost for snowshoeing tours is $35 per person. To register visit Forest the Canoe’s website.

“We really want to help cure any of those winter blues that people might be feeling and get them out on the trails. We’re super stoked,” Walker said. “We hope to see people from the community come out.”
