Korah Comes Alive With The Sounds of Cinderella

On March 31,1957 Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella was performed live for the first time on television by a cast that included Julie Andrews (who had recently finished the Broadway version of My Fair Lady).

The musical was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein specifically with Julie Andrews in mind. Although over 107 million people watched the show, giving it the largest television audience at the time, the performance was never repeated.

This version of the Cinderella story has gone down in TV history as one of the most popular, but rarely seen, programs around. The only place you can actually experience the magic of that performance is in the New York museum of film and television, or at Korah Collegiate this December.

Korah Collegiate's Musical Theatre Class is presenting Rodger's & Hammerstein's Cinderella this coming week, from December 1st to 4th. The production features a very talented cast of students that includes, among others, the very talented Kt Antler. The show is sure to be a crowd pleaser for audiences of all ages.

Evening performances begin at 7:00 pm. The Saturday matinee begins at 1:00 pm. Tickets are available at the door for only $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors. Doors open at 6:00 pm. This is a general seating event.
