Ontario suds, Michigan music featured at Festival of Beer

Loplops Gallery-Lounge is excited to be teaming up with the Canadian Bushplane Museum again this year on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

The eighth edition of the SSM Festival of Beer – The Keg R8R will be showcasing and highlighting a strong Northern Ontario presence as we have seen the craft industry take off over the last couple of years. The usual suspects from Stack (Sudbury), Sleeping Giant (Thunder Bay) and New Ontario (North Bay) will be joined by Lake of the Woods (Kenora), Fullbeard (Timmins), Manitoulin (Manitoulin Island) and Whisky Jacks (Haileybury).

New breweries with strong local ties to our community, Muskoka Brewery, Kingsville Brewery and Old Tomorrow will also be at the festival showcasing their new beers.

This year the SSM Festival of Beer will continue as in previous years with the tasting from 1 until 7 p.m. Samples can be purchased at the event and redeemed in 2oz, 4oz and 8oz servings. The festival will be featuring between 45-60 different beers from all over Ontario.

After the tasting event is over, the SSM Festival of Beer and Canadian Bushplane Museum will be hosting an after party from 7 until 11:30 p.m. with The Gasoline Gypsies (Port Huron) headlining the event.

Tickets for the full day and night are $35/ticket while you could also purchase a tickets for just the evening after party for $20/ticket. A special VIP pass that includes both day and night privileges as well as food from J.Caroline’s are also available for $45/ticket. Tickets are available at J.Caroline’s, Loplops Gallery-Lounge and The Bushplane Museum.

You must be 19 years or older to attend. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show will start around 9 p.m.
