Behind the walls of their downtown Queen Street building with the giant horse mural, Rolling Pictures continues its work on many national and international film and television productions.

“Although shooting a film or TV show normally gets all the attention, Rolling Pictures North in Sault Ste Marie is thrilled to have been involved in the postproduction of some of this years most nominated productions,“ says Community Relations Director Robert Peace

Canada's biggest celebration of homegrown film, television and digital talent is returning to CBC with its first televised event since before the pandemic. Most awards will be presented virtually during a weeklong series of events, split by genre. Canadian Screen Week runs April 4 through April 8. The award show itself will air on CBC and CBC Gem on April 10. Rolling Pictures will also be sponsoring and doing all the postproduction on the show in both Sault and Toronto offices.

“Rolling Pictures opened a northern office back in 2020 with the goal of employing more skilled people in the north and expanding postproduction accessibility to the north by starting a hub that would encourage more local production as well,” says Peace. This has become possible due to the investment by the City of Sault Ste Marie, the Provincial government along with the digital infrastructure and the development of educational programs here to train and introduce students to the jobs in the industry,”
