Rotary Community Day brings thousands downtown (video, 50 photos)

Headlined by Rotary's 99th parade, residents are enjoying fun activities, delectable foods, and live music on the final day of Rotaryfest

The forecast couldn’t have been better for one of the Sault’s biggest gatherings in years.

By 11 a.m. Saturday, thousands of locals had already lined the sidewalks of Queen Street East in anticipation of the 99th Rotary Community Day Parade.

Dozens of floats, bands, dancers, and special guests made their way through the downtown core, providing music, candy, and everything in between for those in attendance.

Afterward, residents walked over to Clergue Park for the final day of Rotaryfest where attendees are enjoying a number of activities like horseback riding, giant-sized games, face painting, and much more.

Next door to Clergue Park, the Algoma Makers Market has dozens of local vendors providing knick-knacks, treats, and collectibles as well.

And not to be forgotten of course, all the Rotaryfest must-haves like savoury ribs from Ribfest, potato twisters, deep fried mars bars, cotton candy, and anything else one could imagine is available for indulging.

Live entertainment will be rocking at the festival’s main stage throughout the evening from several local bands and artists.

Festival goers are reminded to bring cash for most of the vendors.

The winner of the Take Your Pick Draw will be announced this evening at 11:45 p.m.
