The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow, presented by Science North, is coming to Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. With an exciting dash of science—get ready to discover a world of adventure that’s close to home.

At the roadshow, you can experience a staycation expo, an attractions showcase and a local market. With so much to do and discover, adventure lies around every turn. The roadshow will highlight some of the tremendous private and public tourist attractions and natural wonders located throughout the north. There will be no shortage of local businesses or vendors to visit and support, exciting Science North science shows to watch, a day filled with live entertainment, food, and a multitude of fun and interactive activities for all ages.

Touring across 50 communities, the Great Northern Ontario Roadshow will attract 70,000 visitors, including Francophone and Indigenous audiences. Renowned comedian and storyteller, Ron Kanutski, will be the master of ceremonies for all Great Northern Ontario Roadshow multiday events.

The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow will stimulate the economy and support job creation by reinvigorating the Northern Ontario tourism industry; the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted this sector. The Roadshow will offer immediate benefits to small businesses, attractions, local vendors and makers by providing opportunities to showcase their products and services to audiences from across the region.

Come and explore at The Machine Shop, 83 Huron St, on June 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Opening remarks and ceremony are at 11 a.m.

This stop on the roadshow is organized in partnership with the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Tourism Sault Ste. Marie, the Machine Shop and Canal District.

The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow is proudly supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and the Government of Canada.

Adventure awaits in your own backyard. For more information about The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow, visit the website.
