SpongeBob Musical tickets on sale for four March shows

Tickets are now on sale for the Superior Heights OnStage production of The SpongeBob Musical at the Sault Community Theatre Centre on Trunk Road from March 1 to 4. 

Adult admission is $20 and the student/senior rate is $10. 

Tickets are available at the door or online.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. and doors will open half an hour before the curtain rises.  

Based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants, the musical runs for two hours with an intermission. 

This is the first time the musical has been staged in Sault Ste. Marie. 

The show includes original music written by several popular artists including David Bowie, John Legend, Panic! At The Disco, Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper and Aerosmith.

It has drawn acclaim, sold out with extended runs and won major awards since its Broadway debut in 2016.  

The main cast, backstage crew, set designers and live rock band have put together the Superior Heights show as part of the school’s arts programming.

Superior Heights OnStage was established in 2013 by Anthony Aceti, ADSB arts department head to promote the arts and celebrate student talent. 

Memorable Superior Heights productions over the years have included Mamma Mia!, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Beauty and the Beast. 

The plot of The SpongeBob Musical includes characters SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs, Sandy the Squirrel, Patrick Star, Sheldon Plankton and others as SpongeBob and his friends race to save their town from a volcanic catastrophe.
