Indie-folk singers Rose-Erin Stokes and Annie Sumi have announced their "Strange Clouds" tour, playing more than a dozen shows in May, including showcases during Canadian Music Week in Toronto May 2-8.

They'll be playing in Richards Landing on Saturday, May 14 at 8 p.m. at the Town Hall as a part of the ‘Just Passing Through’ concert series

Stokes, from North Bay, ON, won a 2015 Northern Ontario Music and Film Award for Best Vocal Performance, and her EP Not Alone earned a nomination in the best solo album category. She's excited to be sharing the stage with her friend and fellow singer-songwriter.‎

"We've been friends for a few years now, and even played together a few times, but to be sharing the stage night after night will be special," Stokes said. "We are really looking forward to it."

Sumi, from Whitby, ON, released her debut album Reflections in the spring of 2015, and was pleased to see it chart on college radio for 10 straight weeks and receive airplay on CBC Radio from coast to coast.

It also earned her a nomination at the Toronto Independent Music Awards in the Best Singer-Songwriter category.

Sumi said she and Stokes are hoping to make a connection with audiences by sharing their collection of uplifting and emotional songs.

"We're both about honest musical storytelling and singing from the heart," Sumi said. "Each night we'll share a little bit of ourselves, our vulnerabilities, our experiences, that hopefully people can relate to."

Both women will perform as solo artists this tour, but they are also part of a band, called the Hidden Roots Collective.
