Street party on Queen draws the crowds, city councillors plunge into dunking booth

Event included something for everyone

Thursday night marked the Downtown Association Sault Ste. Marie’s first street party of the summer.

Ward 2 Councillors Lisa Vezeau-Allen and Luke Dufour and others volunteered their time to get plunged into a dunking booth as a fundraiser for Downtown Association Sault Ste. Marie.

Queen Street was closed from Pim Street to Spring Street for the event, which included performances by the Highland Dancers, live bands, a fashion show by Stephanie’s Joy, skateboarding, vendor markets, food and beverages from downtown restaurants and games for children.

The street party took place as Rotaryfest got underway for its annual three-day festival at Clergue Park.
