In the meantime, here are a few highlights from the coming weekend:

The 2nd annual Northern Vibe Festival of music and art in Ophir starts at 6 p.m. Friday, August 12 and wraps Sunday, August 15. Saturday's headlining act is My Son the Hurricane.

Nathan McNevin and the Silence Factory perform at Loplops on Friday, August 12 starting at 10 p.m.

ACCANO hosts a family beach BBQ at Batchawana on Saturday, August 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Canadian punk rock legends The Ripcordz play the Canadian Night Club with special guests Jack Spades and Project 421. Show time is 7 p.m. This is an all-ages event.

The Sault Area Hospital Volunteer Association will host a classic car show at Maslack Automotive on Great Northern Rd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 14.

1971 performs at the New American Pub with guests Northwest and the Franquillizers. Music starts at 9 p.m.
