Popular local photographer Brian Tremblay will be bringing the old west to life in latest exhibit.

The opening reception for "Travels in the West", a new show by Tremblay, will be held at Loplops Lounge on Wednesday, November 10th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

The following is taken from Loplops Gallery's press release on the exhibit:

This is Tremblay's second showcase at the local lounge and gallery.

His latest journey took him through the plains of South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota, where his wife’s family had originally settled.

"The area has always intrigued me because of its vastness and long history," he said.

Tremblay has always had a passion for the old west and legendary places like Deadwood, South Dakota where Wild Bill Hickock was killed, the Battle of the Little Big Horn and Custer’s folly and how the settlers came to the area in search of prosperity.

His camera has captured the spirit that lives there, from the cowboys of the 19th century to the modern day rancher. There are subtle signs of the past and future blending together. The strong work ethic of those early settlers still exists and is a living breathing thing.
Brian’s work will be displayed until November 30th at any time during Loplops hours of operation.

The gallery at Loplops Lounge hosts regular exhibitions featuring the works of various local and regional artists. Each display opens with a formal event and an opportunity to meet the artist. The lounge's mandate is to support local, regional and international artists.

Loplops Lounge is located at 651 Queen Street East (next to the Duke of Windsor). For more information, visit www.loplops.com"
