Now in its 14th year, the annual Blues for Food performances will be held on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7, featuring local musicians that will get you up dancing.
Blues for Food was started back in 2010 by Rusty McCarthy with a few musician friends volunteering for one night of blues. The Sault Blues Society helped collect non-perishable goods and cash, which were donated to a local charity.
Since it started, Blues for Food has grown and is now two nights with up to 20 local musicians playing for your listening enjoyment.
All of the collected foods and cash go directly to the Soup Kitchen and St. Vincent Place.
Come out, get into the season, enjoy some local blues and support two of the city's charities.
The Friday and Saturday shows will run from 8 to 11 p.m. at Soo Blaster.
Income tax receipts available for any cash/cheque donations of $20 or more will come directly from the charities with a complete mailing address including postal code.
This charitable event is made possible with support from Soo Blaster, the City of Sault Ste. Marie Cultural Grant department and 705Live Sound Co.
