THURSDAY, OCT. 20

  • Stories Steeped in Stone presents Jay Case: Of This Place at the Heritage Discovery Theatre located at The Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site at 7 p.m. Click here for more information.
  • The Sault Ste. Marie Museum and Outspoken Brewing will host a prohibition era-themed trivia night at the Museum from 7 to 9 p.m. The event features an audiovisual presentation on Prohibition, food and refreshments, and a special beer tasting. Full details can be found here.

FRIDAY, OCT. 21

  • The Centennial Library Children’s Department will host author Dr. Kara Paat at 10 a.m. who will read from her book I don't want to Eat That.
  • Garbageface (Peterborough doom rap), Owen Mk (dark synth pop), and No Funeral (indie noise) perform at Outspoken Brewing. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $20 at the door.
  • Let's Put On A Show will stage Meteor Shower by Steve Martin at The Tech, 103 Wellington Street East. Curtain time is 7 p.m. Click here for tickets and additional information.
  • The Soo Greyhounds face off against Ottawa at the GFL Memorial Gardens at 7:07 p.m.
  • Afroman performs at SooBlaster with special guest Robbie G. General admission tickets are $35 each, or $70 for VIP meet and greet tickets. Doors open at 8 p.m. Click here for more information.
  • Smokehouse plays Shooters Lounge. Show time is 8 p.m.
  • The Crossroad Magdalenes perform at The Whisky Barrel from 8 p.m. to midnight.

  • Midlife Crysis plays the Esquire Club from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

SATURDAY, OCT. 22

  • The Prince Township Trick or Trunk event happens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Prince Township outdoor rink.
  • The Soo Zombie Walk, a family-friendly Halloween festival and canned food drive, includes a variety of activities at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre before hitting the streets of downtown Sault Ste. Marie for the walk itself. Doors open at 2 p.m. Walk begins at 6 p.m. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
  • Forty Creek plays the Moose Lodge from 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Leslie Cook plays an afternoon matinee at Shooters Lounge starting at 3 p.m.
  • The Sault Search and Rescue Benefit Gala happens at the Marconi Cultural Event Centre starting at 5 p.m. Click here for details.
  • The Dinner and Dance Gala in support of the Northern Ontario Latin-Hispanic Association (NOLHA) kicks off at the Delta Hotel at 5 p.m. The event features Mexican performances, key note speakers, salsa dance demonstrations, Brazilian artists and a Mariachi band. Click here for event details.

  • Winnipeg punk band Screaming at Traffic performs at SooBlaster with local openers L!ME. Doors open at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 26

  • Algoma Conservatory Concerts presents The Canadian Piano Quartet live at The Loft at 7:30 p.m. The Canadian Piano Quartet includes two of the music world’s best known married couple piano duos: Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann (Duo Bergmann), Edward Turgeon and Anne Louise-Turgeon (the Duo Turgeon).
