Albert Street West fire causes extensive damage

On Thursday, June 28, 2018, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service crews were called to a reported residential fire in the downtown area of the city.

Just before 1 a.m., fire crews responded to a fire in a duplex in the 600 block of Albert Street West. Crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire on the second floor of one of the units in the dwelling.

There is extensive damage to the unit in the dwelling. Two people were taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.
