Alzheimer Society needs your support

During January, turn the Sault blue by leaving blue or blue and white holiday lights to show your support and care for people living with dementia

During the Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District needs your help to raise awareness about people living with dementia.

This January, turn the Sault blue by turning blue or blue and white holiday lights to show your support.

Residents can also send the Alzheimer Society their pictures of how they have 'Turned Blue.'

Help us raise Alzheimer Awareness and 'Turn the Sault Blue' by leaving up your blue or blue and white holiday lights, or consider using a blue bulb to light up your front entrance.

Let’s support local persons living with dementia by showing them that we care.

About Alzheimer Society

A diagnosis of dementia is not easy. This January, during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District hopes to connect people living with dementia and their caregivers with support, knowledge and a sense of community so they do not have to face the journey alone. The Alzheimer Society is continuing to enhance its support amongst people living with dementia to meet their needs early in and throughout their journey.

When you reach out to your local Alzheimer Society, you gain access to dementia-friendly expertise and resources to help you feel understood and supported. At any point in your experience living with dementia or caring for a person with dementia, the local Alzheimer Society is your first place to turn – and the Society’s First Link program offers services and information to people living with Alzheimers disease or other dementia and their care partners. First Link includes information about risk reduction, living well with dementia, the latest research and advocacy efforts, as well as referrals to programs to help you manage the challenges that dementia can present.

The goal of the Alzheimer Society’s First Link program is to ensure that people living with dementia and their care partners have the right support and information from the time of an initial diagnosis and throughout the progression of the disease. By connecting with your local Alzheimer Society, you will gain access to many services and programs that will help you live well with dementia.
