Three-time entrepreneur Holly Infanti has been elected the new president of StartUP Sault Ste. Marie.

Beginning at age 24 in the health and wellness field, Infanti began her business journey in Sudbury where she transformed the health clinic she was operating into the top clinic in Ontario, a news release said.

After deciding to move closer to home, she bought a lumber and hardware store on St. Joseph Island and eventually opened a gym in Sault Ste. Marie that she sold just over a year ago.

She has extensive business knowledge, but most importantly a love of helping others — be it physically, financially or helping them find their passion, and the proper resources to pursue it, the release added.

She joined the board of directors of StartUP Sault in February 2023 because she wanted to help the organization continue building a supportive community for entrepreneurs.

“I am excited to take on this new role and I am genuinely looking forward to the opportunity of helping people chase their dreams,” said Infanti.

She steps in for past-president and founder Nevin Buconjic.

“StartUP Sault was founded 10 years ago by Nevin Buconjic and he has dedicated thousands of hours to building this organization and hosting more than 100 events to connect entrepreneurs with resources and with each other. I look forward to continuing this effort, together with the board of directors, to strengthen our community of support for local entrepreneurs and help make Sault Ste. Marie a thriving startup community.

"I want to thank Nevin, the board of directors and all our volunteers for all they have done for entrepreneurs in the Sault.”

StartUP Sault Ste. Marie’s mission is to connect local entrepreneurs with the tools, community and support they need to be successful.
