Sault Ste. Marie’s annual International Bridge Walk is this weekend.
The bridge will shut down to vehicles at 8:45 a.m. on June 29.
It’s expected to reopen at around 10:45 a.m.
Participants will meet up on the Michigan side at the Lake Superior State University Arts Center parking lot, leaving at 9 a.m.
“Walkers who arrive after the walk begins will not be permitted to participate,” organizers said in a social media post.
Buses will be available to take people over on a first come basis between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. for $10 per person or $20 per family. They leave from the Marconi Multicultural Event Centre and large strollers are not allowed.
The walk is about 4.8 km long, ending on the Ontario side at The Marconi Club.
Inline skates, roller skates and skateboards are not allowed, neither are animals unless it’s a service dog.
Walkers will need required identification to cross the border, including a passport, NEXUS card or enhanced driver’s licence.
