Drivers will need to find different routes if they plan to use St. Mary's River Drive and Foster Drive on Saturday morning.

The Community Strong Race weekend is on tap and both roads will be closed for the Colour Run portion of the weekend-long event.

Following is a release with additional details on the event:

Organizers of the Community Strong Race Weekend would like to inform the public that St. Mary’s River Drive and Foster Drive will be closed to traffic on Saturday, June 24 from 8 a.m. to noon for the Colour Run portion of the two-day event. The June 24 Colour Run is one of four events scheduled for the 2nd annual Community Strong Race Weekend. Saturday will also include a 10km run. Sunday, June 25 will include full and half marathon races.

All funds raised by the Community Strong Race Weekend help to source mental health programs for children, youth and families that would otherwise not be available through provincial funding, as well as provide an opportunity to send children to camp, learn to swim, support seniors and give parents peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe place while they work. All monies raised through race registrations, donations and sponsorships remain local and are shared equally between the Algoma Family Services Foundation and the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA.
