Are you a student who wants to know more about the upcoming Federal election? Do you want to hold our local federal election candidates accountable for your needs and concerns?

On Monday, Oct. 7, Algoma University’s Law and Politics Student Society will be hosting an election forum to provide young people and students with the opportunity to meet all of the Sault Ste. Marie MP candidates and hear about where they stand on issues that are important to them.

The event will be running from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Algoma University’s Shingwauk Auditorium (SH 300) and is a free event open to the public. All students and youth are encouraged to stop by!

The event will begin with each candidate having the opportunity to speak on their platforms for students, followed by a question period. If you have any questions and concerns about the parties and their goals then this is a great opportunity to be heard and answered directly.

Afterwards, there will be time to mingle and chat with the candidates while enjoying complimentary coffee, refreshments and sandwiches.

This is a great opportunity to become engaged in political issues and get to know the candidates and parties that are running to represent you!
