The discussion about what will be called Canal Village can be viewed in it's entirety beginning at about 00:40:00 on this replay.

It begins with Canal Village Development Corporation's legal representative, Bob Paciocco.

Throughout the presentation he introduces project proponents including Shaun Rothberg, Paola Ravazzi and Henry Cole of Canal Village Development Corporation as well as Franco Pastore of EPOH Inc.

City councillors resolved to authorize staff to negotiate with the principals of the Canal Village Development Corporation (CVDC) for the acquisition of city-owned lands by Canal Village Development Corporation on terms and conditions satisfactory to both parties and report back to Council for approval.

At about 00:18:00 minutes on the replay, viewers can catch a presentation from Len Bailey, Chair, Crime Stoppers who took a bit of time to reminisce about dial phones, paper and pens and Sault Mayor Christian Provenzano's Elmer the Safety Elephant button.
 
The mayor read a proclamation designating January, 2015, as official Crime Stoppers month and congratulating the organization on 30 years of service to the community.
 
At about 01:05:00 Council skips over to the planning portion of the meeting agenda and a discussion about a request to rezone 849 Second Line re-designating the subject lands from Residential to Commercial and to rezone the subject lands from Medium Density Residential Zone with a Special Exception, subject to a number of conditions as well as a site plan.
 
The proposal is to develop the southwest corner of Pine and Second Line.
 
A number of councillors and a member of the public, Mark Brown, expressed concern about safety of students who will be attending the new secondary school under construction to the north of that intersection.
