'Excellent!' Massey resident pockets $62K in 50/50 draw

A Massey resident is $62,210 richer after winning the Sault Area Hospital Foundation's July 50/50 draw. 

Stanly Pilon, who has been supporting the draw almost since it started, says he plans to use his winnings for home renovations.

On Aug. 1, 2024, Stanly Pilon of Massey, ON won a $62,210 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) July 50/50 draw. Stanly’s lucky number (J-1702232) was drawn electronically, and he was called immediately.

As a long-time support of the SAHF 50/50, Stanly knew exactly why we were calling, “Excellent! I’ve been supporting the draw almost since it started” he shared. Stanly plans to use his winnings for home renovations.

Stanly wasn’t the only winner this month – July’s Early Bird, Patricia Barkley of Aweres Township, ON, was the lucky winner of $10,000 on July 18, 2024 with ticket J-9813886.

Tickets for SAHF’s August 50/50 draw are on sale now! Get your tickets before midnight on Aug. 14 for a chance to win the $10,000 early bird prize – plus every ticket has a chance at the growing jackpot. Tickets are 10 for $10; 60 for $20; 200 for $40; or 750 for $75. In addition to online sales at www.soolottery.ca, tickets can be purchased in person at the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Office (750 Great Northern Road) from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Ticket buyers must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.
