Ontario Premier Doug Ford is making an announcement this afternoon.
Ford and chief medical officer of health Dr. Kieran Moore will make the announcement at 3:30 p.m. Village Media will carry the live stream.
Today, Ontario reported 3,142 new COVID-19 cases.
In response to the Omicron variant, Ford announced on Tuesday that booster shots will be rolled out to all people 18 years and old who received their second dose at least three months (84 days) ago.
Since then, the Ontario Science Table released new projections, saying a "circuit breaker" is needed to blunt the impact of the Omicron variant.
