GALLERY: Santa visits cheerful children at Helping Hands

Kids enjoyed treats and received presents after taking photos with Santa on Saturday

There were lots of smiles in the west end today as the big man in red made a festive stop at Sault Ste. Marie Helping Hands.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Santa Claus was on-site to take photos and chat with the little ones. He even handed out some presents with the help from his elves.

Hot chocolate, cookies, and live music were also enjoyed by families who visited the Wellington Street West donation hub.

The event was free, but cash donations to Helping Hands were "graciously accepted."

“The funds collected will go towards supporting the organization's ongoing efforts to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need within the Sault Ste. Marie community," said the organization's president, Robert Peace.
