Around 200 participants ran, walked and wheeled along the waterfront Sunday morning; the Sault has eclipsed $20,000 in donations for the Terry Fox Foundation

For the 44th straight year, Saultites kept the legacy of Terry Fox alive.

An estimated 200 participants gathered at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion for the annual Terry Fox Run during today's warm September morning.

Following the opening ceremonies and a warm-up, attendees lined up at 10 a.m. and began running, walking or wheeling along the boardwalk, waterfront, and Hub Trail. Locals could choose to partake in a 2 km, 5 km or 10 km route.

Following the trek, teams enjoyed refreshments, snacks, and a Kid Zone at the pavilion.

According to the event's website, participants raised more than $20,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation as of Sunday morning.
