Here's what city facilities are open and closed for Family Day

Some events are planned locally for Monday

A number of City facilities will be closed on Monday as part of Family Day.

City facilities that will be closed on Feb. 19 include:

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill
  • GFL Memorial Gardens
  • Northern Community Centre arena and walking
  • The Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
  • Fire Services Administrative offices
  • GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office and box office
  • Public Works and Engineering office – 128 Sackville Road. For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Sault Transit main office
  • Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ and the Northern Community Centre Seniors 55+
  • Northern Community Centre Community Space

Garbage and recycling collection will be one day late for the rest of the week with no pickup scheduled for Monday.

Facilities and services that will operate Monday include:

  • The Downtown Plaza will be open with skating from noon – 9 p.m. Skate N’ Screen at noon with Toy Story and a Hounds Viewing Party from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Public Libraries – James L. McIntyre Centennial and the North Branch Library will be open from noon – 4 p.m
  • John Rhodes Pool – Parent & Child and Lane Swim at 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. Public Swim 1:15 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • John Rhodes Arena #2 – Public skating 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Transit Service – On Monday, February 19, an hourly schedule will be followed with the first bus departing the terminal at 6:15 a.m. and last bus departing the terminal at 11:15 p.m. Parabus service will run as usual. No Community Bus. For transit information, call 705-759-5438.
