You're invited to help the Soo Greyhounds raise money for child cancer patients during the team's 2024 “Hockey Fights Cancer” game night on Feb. 10.

Playing against the Niagara Ice Dogs, the Greyhounds will be wearing custom-designed jerseys that will be auctioned off in support of the Twinkie Foundation, which helps cover expenses incurred on medical trips so families can focus on their children.

This season, rather than wearing a traditional pink or purple jersey, the Hockey Fights Cancer jersey will feature a gold design in honour of those fighting childhood and adolescent cancer.

Online bidding for these jerseys is open now until Feb. 11 at 11:59 p.m.

In-person bidding will be available at the Hounds games on Feb. 10 and 11.

For more information, see the press release below.

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is pleased to announce that their 2024 “Hockey Fights Cancer” game night, presented by Northside Auto Group, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they host the Niagara Ice Dogs at 7:07 p.m.

As part of the Hockey Fights Cancer game night, the Greyhounds will be wearing custom designed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game in support of the Twinkie Foundation.

This season, rather than wearing a traditional pink or purple jersey, the Hockey Fights Cancer jersey will feature a gold design, representing support of Childhood and Adolescent cancer.

The Twinkie Foundation helps alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with having a child with medical issues.
It is a much-needed resource in Sault Ste. Marie for families who have to travel out of town with their sick children to receive medical treatment.

The foundation was created by a local couple who, through personal experience, came to learn that there was a need for this type of assistance in our community.
Funds raised by the Foundation are provided to families for costs associated with travel including meal allowances, fuel, taxis, parking, and accommodations.

Bidding on the game-worn Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys is OPEN NOW, to place a bid please complete the form at the bottom of this page.
Online bidding will be open until Sunday, Feb. 11 at 11:59 p.m.

In person bidding will be available at the games on Feb. 10 and 1.
