Just when you thought Halloween was over . . . (28 photos)

. . . we bring you something truly creepy

They built and they came, raising hundreds of dollars for a worthy cause within the community.

For days, even weeks, Barry and Bev Lyons have been preparing for the Rocky Ridge Hallowe'en Haunt, now into its second year.

"Our twenty actors played such convincing ghoulish roles we could not have succeeded without them," Lyons said. "They entertained 177 guests over three evenings and help to raise $675 for the Matthews Memorial Hospital Association (MMHA)."

The horse barn and barnyard was transformed into a bigger and more gruesome event than last year with hidden surprises around every corner.

"It wouldn't have been a success without all the fun loving and brave souls who ventured into the haunt," Lyons said.

Guests arrived by the car load from Sault Ste. Marie and points east including many from St. Joseph Island. Some in fact, toured more than once.

Barry and Beverly Lyons would like to thank all those who donated, volunteered or helped in any way to make their Hallowe'en Haunt a successful event.

What' s in the plan for the Rocky Ridge Hallowe'en Haunt next year?

You'll have to wait and see.

The Lyons have been invited to attend the Nov. 14 MMHA board meeting to officially present a cheque for the funds raised.
