The 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps will host its 2022 Tag Day fundraiser at various businesses and organizations across Sault Ste. Marie this Friday and Saturday.

Following several years of virtual and hybrid training models, the cadets will use Tag Days to spread awareness and information about the upcoming 2022/23 training year, as well as offset the cost of the training program.

Members of the public are invited to speak with cadets and make a donation to the 2310 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp in exchange for a tag.

“The Army Cadet Program teaches young people the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment while promoting self-esteem, teamwork and self-discipline,” the Corps said in a news release. “Cadets may have the opportunity to participate in sports and fitness, pipe and drum band, Highland Dance, orienteering, biathlon, expeditions and more.”

The program is free and open to participants between the ages of 12 and 18 years. The 2310 Army Cadet Corps meets every Monday evening at the Sault Ste. Marie Armoury, 1 Garrison Way, at 6:30 p.m.
