Memorial Wall remembers locals who died of drug poisoning.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day — an annual campaign aimed at ending the drug poisoning crisis and remembering those who have died.

A local ceremony and event is planned to mark the day in Sault Ste. Marie.

It begins at 5 p.m. with a ceremony at The Memorial Wall, located outside City Hall. After that, participants will walk to the Roberta Bondar Pavilion for a free barbecue with guest speakers and agency representatives.

You can find more about the event HERE.
