Luck has shone in favour of local residents and good friends, Richard Stone and Betty Taillefer, when they won over $21,000 in the ARCH's December 50/50 Grand Prize Draw.

When Stone received the phone call from ARCH’s fund development supervisor, he thought he'd be asked to purchase his tickets for the month, so he said he had already gotten his tickets. Needless to say, he was thrilled to find out he was the December winner!

Stone and Taillefer, who are both long-time supporters of ARCH, buy tickets together to various local 50/50 draws to support the community. Their ticket number, #F-5559215, was drawn for a jackpot of $21,395.

They said they will continue supporting ARCH by purchasing 50/50 tickets.

“The money raised through donations provides comfort and quality care to our residents, their family, and friends during such a difficult time. Your continued support helps us fulfill our mission of bringing peace at the end of life. It is an honour to work at ARCH and serve the Algoma region. We are so grateful for our supportive community,” said Katrina De Marco, referral and intake coordinator with ARCH.

Early Bird Draws take place on the second Wednesday of every month. Buying tickets in advance gives players a chance to win the $1,000 Early Bird Prize and the end-of-month Grand Prize.

The deadline to buy tickets for January’s Grand Prize Draw is Jan. 31 at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets for the January ARCH 50/50 are on sale at ARCH5050.ca.
