Longtime Lions Club supporter $6K richer after 50/50 draw

Proceeds will go to local charities such as the Salvation Army, St. Vincent Place, Christmas Cheer and the Soup Kitchen Community Centre

Brian Kozack of Sault Ste. Marie won the top prize of $6,172 in the Lions Club 50/50 draw held Nov. 22, a news release said.

“I first became connected with the Lions Club as a youth when the organization helped to sponsor our sport's team," Kozack said. "I have always been a supporter of the Lions Club ever since.”

The net proceeds from this draw will support local charities such as the Salvation Army, St. Vincent Place, Christmas Cheer and the Soup Kitchen Community Centre. 

Lion Debbie Kidd sold the winning ticket No. 602.

The Lions Club volunteered 776 service hours within the city through this draw. A huge thank you goes to Pino’s Get Fresh, Rome’s, Metro Market Mall, Metro Churchill Plaza and Metro Northern Avenue for allowing tickets to be sold in these locations.
