Environment Canada has issued gale force wind warnings for Whitefish Bay, eastern and western Lake Superior and a strong wind warning for the North Channel.

As of early this evening, Environment Canada issued a general warning of 'Gale' force winds of 34 to 47 knots that are occurring or are expected to occur in Lake Superior and Whitefish Bay and a strong wind warning for the North Channel

The winds could cause waves as high as two metres and are a result of the remnants of Hurricane Patricia and another storm combining as they travel north and eastward.

There are currently no storm warnings for the shorelines but this could change as the storms track toward the shores.
