UPDATE: Area highways reopen in wake of weather closures

Highways near the Sault are being reopened following closures this morning due to some nasty weather.

4:30 p.m. update

Highway 129 between Chapleau and Thessalon has reopened.

12:20 p.m. update

HIghway 17 between Wawa and Batchawana has reopened.

9:10 a.m. original story

Multiple highways in the region are closed to all traffic due to adverse weather conditions.

All lanes of Highway 129 between Chapleau and Thessalon are closed.

All lanes of Highway 101 between Wawa and Timmins are closed.

All lanes of Highway 17 between Wawa and Batchawana remain closed at this time.
