Northern Ontario Business Case Competition winners crowned

This year's event marked the first time a team from Algoma's Brampton campus won

The first place team in the Northern Ontario Business Case Competition.

The Northern Ontario Business Case Competition wrapped up on Wednesday with 10 teams competing and finishing four years of studying for a business or commerce degree at Algoma University.

For the first time in the event's history, a team from Algoma's Brampton campus took home the win.

The members of the winning team included Vidya Singh, Patrique Roy, Kanishika Nijhawan, Shashank Kasinadhun, and faculty advisor Dr. Jingyuan Zhao.

"The hectic nature of the competition was probably the highlight for me. And I wanted to thank the volunteers for making it such a great experience," Roy said about the competition.

"Starting my studies online was very challenging but with the incredible support of my teammates and faculty, we were able to overcome this challenge and have an incredible experience at NOBCC," added Kasinadhuni.

The second place team was a team that included Noah Crozier, Mark Bonner, Tony Trozzo, and faculty advisor: Dr. Jody Rebek

The third place included Emma Belanger, Joel  George, Kristy Thompson, Brandon Clark, and faculty advisor: Dr. Jody Rebek.
