Not-so-breaking news: Places will be closed on Labour Day

A number of city facilities and services will not be available on Sept. 2

Various city facilities and services will be closed for Labour Day on Sept. 2.

Among the closures are:

  • Bay Street Active Living Centre and the Northern Community Centre 55+ programs
  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
  • Fire Services administrative office
  • GFL Memorial Gardens, office, and Box Office
  • James L. McIntryre Centennial Library and the North Branch Library
  • John Rhodes Community Centre arenas
  • Northern Community Centre
  • Public Works office. For 24-hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Sault Transit and Parabus service will not operate. The Pointe Des Chenes bus has ended for the season. The main transit office is closed.

No garbage, leaf, and yard waste or recycling pickup will happen on Sept. 2. Collection for the remainder of the week will be one day late.

Leaf and Yard Waste is collected on your scheduled garbage day every second week.  

The following facilities and services are open on Sept. 2:

  • Bellevue Marina is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. For fall hours please refer to onsite signage.
  • Bellevue Park concession is open 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Closed for the season after September 2.
  • Roberta Bondar Marina is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed for the season after September 2.

The John Rhodes pool is open during regular scheduled hours. Parent and child and lane swim from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a public swim from 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Peter G. Manzo and V.E. Greco outdoor pools are open from 1 to 7 p.m., weather permitting.

The Bellevue Park and Manzo Park Splash Pad is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Rotary Interactive Fountain at the Downtown Plaza is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will close for the season after Sept. 2.

Sault Transit and Parabus service will not operate while the Pointe Des Chenes bus has ended for the season.

The Sault Transit Adventure Bus begins on Sept. 7, traveling on Saturdays and Sundays, twice per day to Hiawatha Highlands.
