Sault Ste. Marie Police Service officers responded to the scene of an altercation in the Albert Street East and Gore Street area at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from serious injuries, said Lincoln Louttit, Sault Police spokesperson.
The victim was transported to hospital.
One male is in custody.
The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released by police as they become available, Louttit said.
