Passenger levels at Sault airport slowly climbing post-COVID

Airport saw a slight increase this April compared to last, but overall numbers still far below pre-pandemic levels

Though down slightly from March, April's passenger numbers at the Sault Ste. Marie Airport were up slightly from the same period one year ago.

April 2-24 saw 12,560 passengers travel through the airport, up from 12,280 in April 2023 — a difference of 2.3 per cent.

Passenger levels remain down 25 per cent from pre-pandemic levels.

Year-to-date, 47,974 passengers have traveled through the airport.

The current number of flights provided is as follows:

  • Air Canada Express: two flights daily
  • Bearskin Airlines: two flights Sunday; three flights daily Monday and Friday; four flights daily Tuesday and Thursday; six flights on Wednesday
  • Porter: two flights daily Sunday to Friday; one on Saturday.
