PUC says power was restored at 2:33 p.m.

A spokesperson says the outage was caused by "equipment failure."

ORIGINAL STORY:

PUC is responding to a major power outage that has impacted more than 3,400 customers.

The outage was first reported at around 1:34 p.m., after a smaller outage impacted approximately 300 properties downtown.

PUC's website says the outage stretches from Jamestown to the Bushplane Heritage Centre.

The cause of the outage is unknown, PUC says.
