Laureanne Ryan hit the ARCH Hospice jackpot, taking home $20,155 from the April 50/50 grand prize draw.

When ARCH’s fund development supervisor Katherine Williamson called Ryan to tell her she won the prize, she was at church. Before she called Williamson back, she checked the winning ticket number and realized she had won.

In truth, Ryan wasn't praying for a windfall. She has been a strong supporter of ARCH Hospice since the beginning and became an ARCH 50/50 supporter when the draw began in 2020. “I don’t buy to win," she said in a press release. "I buy to support, but this was a nice surprise.”

She said she is happy to share this win with her family. She also wants to donate part of her winnings to local charities.

“We are so grateful for supporters especially those who have been supporting us from the beginning like Laureanne," said ARCH Community Engagement Coordinator, Sara Feltham. "We are granted the opportunity to give back to our community through 50/50 and I am so grateful that I am not only able to meet them but hear their stories.

Early Bird Draws take place on the second Wednesday of each month. Purchasing your tickets in advance will give you a chance at both the $1,000 early prize and the end-of-month main prize.

Tickets May are on sale now at www.ARCH5050.ca. Proceeds go directly towards the care and support of hundreds of residents, community clients, and their families served by ARCH each year.
