Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be spending the day in Greater Sudbury.
He is in the North to discuss the recently signed Canada-Ontario health care agreement. Signed this month, the $3.1-billion deal covers the first three years of a 10-year agreement in principle for an increase to the federal health transfer.
The deal, in part, requires Ontario to better how it track and reports health data, adds spots to medical education programs in the province and requires Ontario to create new primary health teams.
Trudeau will hold a press conference on the deal at 11:30 a.m. this morning. This afternoon at 2:10 p.m., he is meeting with a local community group.
Our sister site Sudbury.com will have coverage of both events.
