PUC Services will host a public open house on Wednesday, Sept. 21 to provide updates and answer questions regarding the Sault Smart Grid Project.
The Smart Grid is expected to be operational in 2023, and will save customers money by increasing efficiency, and reducing the frequency and duration of power outages, says PUC Services in a news release.
The open house will take place at the PUC building located at 500 Second Line East from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Those who attend will be entered into a draw for a $100 PUC bill credit.
“By implementing the first community-wide smart grid project in Canada, PUC has become a leader and inspiration to other communities across the country when it comes to innovation and modernization of an electrical grid,” the release says.
