Sault couple plans to keep giving back after winning $12K

A Sault couple was pleasantly surprised to find out they won $12,090 in the ARCH May 50/50. 

“I look at it as a donation. We never expect to win!” said Nancy Brunetta, who was biking by an emotionally significant spot along the lake with her husband Andy when they received the call that they'd won. 

The couple has been purchasing ARCH 50/50 tickets since the beginning. In 2019, Nancy’s parents both passed away at ARCH, close to a month apart.

"ARCH was remarkable to my parents and to us," Nancy says in a news release. "It's heartwarming to know the people here get the best possible care.”

Andy added that he was so moved by ARCH’s impact on his nephew and family that he got a tattoo of a dragonfly.

Nancy and Andy plan to continue donating to three local charities that are dear to their hearts. The winning couple also loves to travel and plans to use some of the funds for their future adventures.

The winner’s jackpot has a guaranteed minimum of $9,999 and Early Bird ticket holders will have a chance at winning an additional $1,000. Proceeds raised from the 50/50 go directly towards the care and support of hundreds of residents, community clients, and their families served by ARCH each year.
