With a more rain in the forecast — the potential for between 15 and 25 mm over the next three days — the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority has issued another warning about increased water levels and potential flooding.

Local rivers, creeks, and streams flowing are expected to flow at above-normal levels, while localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible where there is poor drainage.

Flood control channels maintained by the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority will see a rise in water levels as well. They are currently flowing at above normal levels.

The conservation authority is advising people to stay away from the flood control channels and other waterways as flows can be dangerous and stream banks can be slippery.

The current watershed statement is in effect until May 7.
